Use Plastic Money And Make Life Smarter

In today’s materialistic world, every one is running behind money or you can say that the whole world is running behind money.

In addition, these days, things have become costlier and with out hard cash it is difficult to make any outright purchase, if you are an impulsive buyer. Nevertheless, with ‘Plastic Money’, i.e. Payment Cards, you can do it without carrying any money on you. There is no burden of carrying a bunch of notes, no fear of loosing or forgetting the wallet at home. Welcome to the age of ‘Plastic Money’.

Influence of western lifestyle has changed things in India too. India is also turning to ‘Plastic Money’ and it has become more fashionable. Making payment through cards is so simple and faster. No need to wait for the change or stand in the queue to make payments. Now it is not just swiping the card, it’s contact less payment or ‘Tap and Go’ payment. Here you have to just hold the card in front of the reader machine or tap the card on the machine, and your payment will be done within a minute.

However, there are also risks associated with making payment through cards. However, payment card industry is advancing with new technologies. Here the chip will be in-built into the card, mobiles, or wristwatches etc. Currently, mobiles are used to make payments. Contact less payment is under trail in UK and US along with biometric payment too.

Cards are not just boring plain cards anymore. This payment card industry has become more interesting. There are gift cards for every occasion, with beautiful designs over it. You can also customize your card design according to your preference. You can put your own photo on the card. Gift cards are prepaid cards, one time use card and reload able cards are available. You can select the card according to the occasion and gift your loved one, and make them feel special.

So go ahead and shop to your heart’s desire!

That was a good blog post. We all know the follies of a "bulging wallet" and plastic money has sure turned the tide and favoured consumers. I am still waiting for the day when we have "cash-less" and unmanned payment check-out counters. That sure will be a great trigger to "shop" till u "actually" drop --merrily getting "swiped off" our feet!!!

Hey good information dear....good one...it sounds great.

Plastic money not only eases the fear of carrying large amount in cash, but it can also stop the corruption of hoarding black money, which lets the country down financially.

Plastic money has its own benefits and problems. Ever wondered why we grumble while in shops, in BMTC buses, with autowalas, in the sabzi market, with peers, in a grocery shop, even to pay a begger in the street, most of the times (Am I right?) we do not have enough change!!......what does this imply??? Well...problem of change, crisis of change (coins of lower denominations). And what is the reason - Hoarding, Stocking, Piggybanking the coins we have? Well one of the reasons is use of debit/credit cards. The circulation of conventional money is imbalanced, though I am not a follower of economics/finance, but I feel this credit card craze has a big hand in it. No doubt consumer behavior is highly skewed towards plastic money, but that brings with it a set of responsibility of managing our personal finances and debt skillfully. Am I right? This is something we all know, but as human beings, our nature is to go after something which makes our lives easier, hassle-free.

Thumbs-Up Usha, good thought provoking piece this is....keep writing!!

Hey Usha, CONGRATULATIONS on your Uno Blog. Keep it going !!
Really ,there is so much we all need to know about credit cards.
So, where do we start ? How about this link just to know how it was invented [ http://history1900s.about.com/od/1950s/a/firstcreditcard.htm ]. Also just this morning on way to work, I was listening to the radio and there was this topic about "Controlled Credit Card" Where you can specify what kinds of business can accept and not accept your credit card, based on a protected profile controlled by the primary card holder, so that it is not misused or used in wrong places especially for Kids ( no worry for parents who hand over credit cards once they reach TEEN) or employee's ( less worry companies which offer Corporate Cards). Anyways there is so much to talk about the pros and cons of credit card and the responsibility it comes with.
Again keep the BLOG rolling and I can see you have already attracted a pretty good crowd.
Cheers - Raj.
