Captain Kirk's Log...

Today we 'celebrated' a few significant events

  • Four people completed one year at EmPower Research - we had the usual speeches ("we are thankful" etc..), some 'mithai' (yummm - as usual, the people caught enjoying these goodies most were the two Managing Partners :)), and a lot of clapping and cheering. Way to go, Arpita, Rajiv, Jo and Nash!
  • Mixed with the general bonhomie was a bit of sadness - we also announced a farewell to Dipraj. His speech, true to type, was a lovely song - we will certainly miss his melodious voice. All the best, Dipraj!
  • Our scribes were busy today - apart from the usual 50 plus reports we send out, 3 people contributed super articles - I certainly learnt a lot reading them - hope you do too! The articles can be found at http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=39684, http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=39064, http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=39375. Good going, Guru, Sharada, Prashanthi!
  • In the middle of the day, there was some 'extra curricular' excitement - some of the personal drivers were found involved in a brawl - it all got sorted out thanks to Prashanth's usual cool handling of the situation

Well, all in a day's work, right? Watch this space!

What happened today:
- 3 new people joined EmPower Research - Rishabh, Pravin, Dhananjay - One working in the Store in a leading retail chain, One from the Business Development function at a financial services firm, and one from a peer organization - another KPO. Welcome, all three - hope you have loads of fun here
- Viji, our HR manager, visited the Nasscom HR meeting - apparently there was detailed discussion on reward systems; attrition in the industry (of course!); and the ethics involved in Tax Friendly salary structures. According to her, there seems to be a general appreciation of thekind of value added work that KPOs (and EmPower Research) do. Good going, Viji.
- EmPower Research launched its bid to obtain ISO certification - we are partnering with Adaptive Processes, who helped us set up our process documentation earlier. Hope we get it soon.
Thats it for now - Beam me up, Scotty!

We live in very exciting times.
- Today, EmPower Research launched its first 'product'. This is a report on the Contract Research Organization Industry in India. The report, called CRO-nicles, gives an overview of the Industry, along with the size of the market and a forecast for the next 5 years. The report also contains profiles of 27 Indian CROs, with details about their organization, their people and their strengths. Congratulations to the team that worked on the report - Sujatha, Vijay, Verghese, Prashanth, Scott, Kiran, srinath.
The report was released at a small ceremony on the office premises. Interested buyers should go to http://www.empowerresearch.com/ProductsAndServices.html
Hope that we will have many more of these

- EmPower also landed a large client for its Media Services. The team that deserves the kudos is Guru and Harish

Have a great weekend!

EmPower is evolving fast.....each day is a learning experience considering the vast scope that the work offers. In the process, we can identify areas where we can contribute apart from routine report sending....AND this interactive platform is just right to jot down our dynamic ideas...CHEERS!!
